Pleural plaques have been considered an injury for over twenty years. Defendants, however, are re-visiting this issue. Evidence was concluded in the case held in Manchester in front of Holland J. on Friday 12 November. The case was adjourned for final submissions to be heard in London on 6 and 7 December.
It is anticipated that Judgment will follow shortly thereafter.
The outcome of these cases will affect many thousands of future cases.
In addition, the court is being asked to determine what the proper level of compensation should be both for provisional and final damages claims.
