Simon has more than 30 years’ experience in the field of Personal Injury with a particular interest in cases involving accountancy evidence and complex schedules. In the field of Clinical Negligence he has a particular interest in drug related therapy, general practitioners, obstetrics and gynaecology, general surgery and cancer. He was appointed as a Recorder in 1996 and sits on the PNBA Committee (1997), the PIBA Committee (1998) and the Ogden Committee (2003).
Having edited "Facts & Figures" for 15 years, and been a member of the Ogden Committee for 8 years, Simon is much in demand for the calculation of losses and drafting of Schedules and Counter-Schedules in cases of financial complexity, especially those involving accountancy and actuarial evidence, and company accounts.
Simon is listed as a Leading Junior in Personal Injury and The Legal 500. In Chambers and Partners 2012, Industrial Disease and local authority liability cases are referred to as second nature to Simon. Previously, he has been recognised as a Leading Junior who is very well thought of when it comes to high-value complex matters. Simon is particularly praised for his "nerveless" performances in court.
