Catherine has a well established civil practice specialising in personal injury, clinical negligence and insurance. She acts for both claimants and defendants.

Catherine has a broad range of experience in claims involving employers’ liability, public liability, product liability, occupiers’ liability, road traffic accidents, MIB claims, Animals’ Act claims, fatal accident claims, appeals to the CICA and CRU appeals. She is regularly instructed in high value claims involving complicated medico-legal issues. Her experience includes acting in catastrophic claims. Catherine has been instructed in a variety of clinical negligence claims and has broad experience of insurance disputes relating to property damage, fire and flood and policy disputes concerning policy wording and indemnity issues.

Catherine accepts appropriate cases on a conditional fee basis. 

Prior to coming to the Bar, Catherine worked for a major insurance broker in the City where she gained experience in a wide range of areas including risk management. She has acted as junior counsel in a variety of very high value personal injury trials, being led by Andrew Hogarth QC, Frank Burton QC, Susan Rodway QC and William Featherby QC. 

Catherine is involved in the continuing professional education of solicitors and regularly teaches advocacy and litigation skills to major law firms. She also presents seminars to solicitors and insurers on topical subjects.
