Barrister Profile

Because of his experience and expertise in a variety of areas outside the field of Personal Injury, the majority of Adam’s practice involves overlaps between PI and other areas of law. Examples include claims arising out of land ownership; occupiers’ liability, private and public nuisances, trespass, boundaries and easements; the liability of statutory bodies; highway duties, housing disrepair, regulatory powers and planning.

Other areas within Adam’s expertise include landlord and tenant, housing, commercial and consumer contracts and professional negligence in the context of these fields. He is experienced in obtaining freezing injunctions both against persons within and without the jurisdiction as well as representing persons charged with contempt for breaching injunctions. He is also regularly instructed to defend local authorities against claims by litigants in person for abuse or misuse of statutory powers

He acts for highway authorities in defence of claims for flooding made by householders adjacent to the highway and for private landowners in claims for nuisance caused by flooding. He has advised suppliers, land owners and neighbours on the legal duties and consequences of oil spillage. Other examples of his experience in Material Loss claims include business interruption either as a result of personal injury, the loss of or damage to a business asset and torts to real property.

Adam has recently provided a lecture to Nabarro Nathanson solicitors on E-Disclosure.
