Richard’s practice is a mix of personal injury, clinical negligence and employment. The greater part of his personal injury work has been for unions. He has done many cases of manual handling, occupational asthma and (increasingly) stress at work, bullying, harassment and assaults on staff by third parties. High value cases have included serious head injuries and numerous fatal accidents.
In clinical negligence, he is very familiar with birth injuries and Erb’s palsy and has done a wide variety of other types of claim.
His employment practice covers all fields of employment law but with a special interest in wrongful dismissal and disputes with agents.
Richard was appointed a part-time Employment Tribunal Chairman in 1999 and a Recorder in 2005.
