Richard’s practice is a mix of personal injury, clinical negligence and employment work. The greater part of his personal injury work has been for unions. He has done many cases of manual handling, occupational asthma and (increasingly) stress at work, bullying, harassment and assaults on staff by third parties. High value cases have included serious head injuries and numerous fatal accidents.

In clinical negligence, he is very familiar with birth injuries and Erb’s palsy and has done a wide variety of other types of claim. 

Richard has also recently been involved in a number of commercial and professional negligence actions in the UK and the Cayman Islands.

His employment practice covers all fields of employment law but with a special interest in high-value wrongful dismissal in the High Court and contract disputes with agents. His employment work also concentrates on disability discrimination .

Richard's personal injury practice has involved substantial cases involving catastrophic injuries and death.
