Mesothelioma UK and researchers from the University of Sheffield have published the Gendered Experience of Mesothelioma (GEMS) study. The 12KBW Asbestos team are proud to have fundraised in support of this study into the effect of gender on experiences of mesothelioma. Aliyah Akram was a member of the Advisory Group to the study.

The research focused on implications for practice from the varying experiences of men and women in their exposure to asbestos, treatment and care, and experiences of seeking compensation. The report can be found at the below link:
