Clerks Team
Oliver Parkhouse
Director of Clerking

Oliver is the Director of Clerking at 12KBW. He began his clerking career at Old Square Chambers in 1998, gaining further experience when moving to Crown Office Chambers. He joined 12KBW in December 2016 and leads our clerking and administrative teams, with responsibility for the strategic management and development of members’ practices and chambers as a whole.

In addition to the management of chambers, Oliver works closely with his clerking team in the day-to-day clerking of members’ practices. He is responsible for the business development of chambers and ensures a close working and open relationship with our clients.

Oliver is assisted by an experienced clerking team which includes Graham Johnson, Senior Clerk.

Graham Johnson
Senior Clerk

Before joining the 12KBW team, Graham was senior clerk at 199 Strand where he had worked since 1989.

His outside interests include cycling, reading and holidays.

Lexie Johnson
Practice Team Leader

Lexie joined 12KBW in December 2004. Before this she worked in a Reptile Wholesaler which distributed animals and dry goods to pet stores across the UK.

Her interests include the theatre and reading.

Sam Carter
Practice Team Leader

Sam joined 12KBW in March 2016 with over 10 years’ clerking, business development, and marketing experience gained in common, commercial, and public law sets.

Practice Team Leader at 12KBW, responsible for the management and development of team member practices and our international & travel, aviation, product liability, and employment law groups, as well as supporting chambers overall management, strategy, growth and development.

Sam focuses on building strong relationships with new and existing clients, both domestically and internationally. Implementing an “excellent service” within the team.

Currently undertaking ILM Diploma in Leadership and Management.

Tristan Whigham
Practice Team Leader

Tristan joined 12KBW in 2009 as a graduate recruit and became a Senior Practice Manager in April 2016. He is the primary clerk to the employment team and is responsible for the management and development of this practice area. He enjoys developing and maintaining client relationships throughout all of 12KBW’s practice areas. In January 2016, Tristan was appointed Chairman of the Career Development Committee (formerly the Junior Clerks Committee). He is an active member of the Institute of Barristers’ Clerks and sits on its Management Committee.

Away from clerking, Tristan’s interests are music, DJing and spending time with his young family.

Kevin McCourt
Senior Practice Manager

Kevin joined chambers in 2003 from Crown Office Chambers where he had previously clerked for over 10 years.

His outside interests include playing golf (current handicap 16) and watching his teenage son, Ryan, play football for Bromley FC, where he is also involved as part of the youth section coaching staff.

Phillip Austin
Practice Manager

Phil, who joined chambers in February 2011 as a Practice Manager, began his clerking career in early 2008 as a Junior Clerk at a leading Commercial Chancery set based in Lincoln’s Inn. Phil plays a vital role in maintaining the diary, agreeing fees and managing the work of his designated Barristers.

Outside of chambers Phil enjoys a varied social life; his interests include music, travelling and skydiving.

William Brown
Junior Practice Manager

William joined chambers in June 2015 as a Trainee Practice Manager. He has an LLB in Law from Anglia Ruskin University and has previously worked for the Crown Prosecution Service and Essex Police.

His interests outside of chambers include music, playing guitar, theatre and reading.

Anthony Stafford
Junior Practice Manager

Anthony joined chambers in December 2015 as a Junior Practice Manager. He started his career in 2008 spending 7 years with a Chancery Lane law firm before moving to a set of criminal chambers. Anthony is also a member of the Career Development Committee and the Institute of Barristers Clerks.

Outside of chambers Anthony’s hobbies are travelling, music, theatre and American football.

Harry Gamble
Junior Practice Manager

Harry joined chambers in August 2017 as a Junior Practice Manager, arriving from a common and commercial law set where he was Head Junior Clerk.

Outside of chambers Harry is a fully qualified football coach, working for a well-established coaching company and local teams, also playing at a high standard.

Harry is a member of the Institute of Barristers’ Clerks (IBC).

Megan Pryde
Junior Clerk

Megan joined 12KBW in September 2017.

Outside of chambers Megan is a fully qualified netball coach, coaching seniors and youth for a reputable club. Megan also plays netball at a Regional level and has participated in 7 National Netball Finals. Her other interests include going to the gym, spending time with family and friends, and travelling.

Matilda Hawes
Marketing and Events Manager

Matilda joined 12KBW in February 2017. She has a First Class Honours degree in Hospitality and Business Management, and during her studies she was actively involved with running volunteer groups, including their campaigns and events.

Outside of work Matilda enjoys long-distance swimming, walking, and exploring museums and art galleries.

Finance & Chambers Administration
Nimisha Patel
Head of HR, Administration and Compliance

Nimisha is the Head of HR, Administration and Compliance at 12KBW. She was a Solicitor for 17 years before working in chambers as Practice Director at 3 Paper Buildings. Prior to joining 12KBW, Nimisha returned back to private practice as the Practice Manager at a niche education law firm in the city. Nimisha is responsible for Business Administration, HR, Compliance, Risk Management and Facilities in chambers, working closely with the Director of Clerking.

Outside of chambers Nimisha is an avid reader, amateur artist and keen traveller.

Gosia Cyc
Finance Manager

Gosia joined 12 King’s Bench Walk in October 2008. She is chambers’ Finance Manager, solely managing all finance matters and the administration of various operational responsibilities. Gosia is studying for her Professional Accounting Qualification, and currently holds a BSc in Management and Marketing from Szczecin University in Poland. She is fluent in Polish and English; and has a basic knowledge of Russian.

Edna Hackman
Senior Fees Clerk

Edna joined 12KBW in August 2016 with over 10 years experience working as a fees clerk in leading family and planning sets. She is responsible for the day-to-day collection and management of barristers’ fees.

In her spare time she enjoys travelling around the world, dancing, reading and spending time with loved ones.

Nikole Leonidou
Junior Fees Clerk

Nikole joined 12KBW in October 2017 bringing with her extensive experience in a variety of chambers and law firms.

Outside of work Nikole is a professional Mixed Martial Artist with her own academy. She has fought in Ultimate Fighting Championships across the country and is a member of the British and International Taekwondo federations. Aside from coaching, Nikole enjoys going to the gym and socialising with family and friends.

Adrian Morris
General Office Assistant

Adrian joined 12KBW in 2011 having previously worked in the mail room and admin department at a large firm of solicitors.

His outside interests include music and watching Arsenal FC.

Tracey Oliver
Front of House

Tracey joined 12KBW in October 2017.

Prior to raising her family, Tracey enjoyed a career as a Personnel Assistant to the Chairman of a large Japanese trading house in the city. She brings her proficiency and excellent client care skills to chambers Front of House.
