Between 9 – 12 February, a seven-judge panel of the Supreme Court heard the appeal in Coventry v Lawrence, which raised the question of whether a defendant ordered to pay a success fee and an ATE premium had suffered a breach of their rights under the European Convention on Human Rights. Harry Steinberg and Achas Burin of Chambers, instructed by Leigh Day and led by Rob Weir QC, intervened in the case on behalf of the Asbestos Victims Support Group Forum. Harry and Achas will present a seminar discussing the case and its possible ramifications on 5 March 2015 at 5:30pm.
