Nigel Lewers, instructed by Alison Standfast of DWF Law LLP, acted successfully for the defendant in Lewington V East Coast Main Line Co Ltd. The claim was made for injuries suffered by Ms Lewington as a result of a fall from a carriage of a train operated by the defendant at Wakefield Westgate Station. HH Judge Richard Parkes QC found that a reasonable person in the position of the defendant would not have contemplated that injury was likely to follow.
